World Première

In 2004 the Duo were awarded a highly prestigious fellowship from the Borletti-Buitoni Trust.  They used the money to commission the German composer Detlev Glanert to write a Two Piano Concerto, which was premièred with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra under Martyn Brabbins in Glasgow in March 2008.  Click here for a short video clip of the preparation for the performance and click here to read what The Times had to say about this spectacular event.

BBC Proms 2009

The Piano Duo made two appearances at the BBC Proms on 9th August 2009 as part of the “Multiple Pianos Day”, one of the highlights of the festival.  They presented a brand new commission:  “Left Light”, a witty Two Piano Concerto by Anna Meredith, alongside Britten Sinfonia and Ludovic Morlot.  Later they joined Colin Currie and Sam Walton (with whom they have worked together many times before) in Bártok's Sonata for Two Pianos and Percussion.

New Chopin Recording

In February 2010 the Duo recorded Chopin's Rondo in C Major Op. 73 for two pianos, as part of a new release for Naxos, scheduled for Autumn 2011.  Check here for updates.

Wigmore Hall 2011

The Duo will be giving a Coffee Concert at Wigmore Hall on 11 December.  On the programme will be Rachmaninov’s Symphonic Dances and Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring, two iconic composer-transcribed works for two pianos at one of the UK's best chamber music venues.
